Your 2017 Conference Board

Ken Kruthaup

I first became involved with Murrieta Pop Warner through my daughter in 1994. By the next year my son traded in his soccer shoes for football cleats and became a Mighty Mite. In 1996 various political issues caused me to get involved with the Murrieta board of directors. While on their board I served as Vice president, player agent and president. Over the years I sought to change the way the seasonal schedule was laid out, and created a system which would not eliminate teams after just a single loss during the season and created the bracket system, which we still use today. I remained behind the scenes for then commissioner John Perez. In October 2004, Debbie Winters assumed the role of commissioner and invited me to join her board as deputy commissioner. I was later elected to Vice Commissioner and in 2011 to Commissioner.

Amy’s mission is to empower our association cheer and dance coordinators and coaches to provide a safe and fun learning environment. Through hands-on training, clinics and collaboration the spirit teams discover the meaning of teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship while gaining confidence and self worth on and off the mat. She believes that possibilities are endless when you set goals and work towards them as a team. While Palomar squads are highly successful in competition, a strong emphasis is placed on making the game day experience FUN while supporting our football teams and getting the crowd excited and involved!! Game Day is a vital part of Pop Warner Cheerleading and Dance as this, along with our emphasis on scholastics, sets us apart from other youth cheer and dance programs. Amy, her husband, Chė and son, Tony reside in Carlsbad.
